History

In the late 1960’s, William Elliott, George Fazio, William Clay Ford, Sr., and Bob Hope joined ranks for the purpose of establishing an exclusive, private golf club in southeast Florida – a club that would eventually rank among the finest in the world. The Jupiter Hills Club they formed, with its two marvelous 18-hole championship courses, has achieved the singular distinction the original founders conceived for it. It is today considered one of America’s finest private golf clubs.

The Membership Philosophy

Membership in Jupiter Hills Club embodies the qualities and attributes of membership in the finest golf clubs of the world. Membership is by invitation only and Jupiter Hills maintains selective and exclusive membership criteria.
In addition to year-round play on two spectacular 18-hole golf courses, where the making of tee times is unnecessary, members enjoy a relaxed Club life where traditional attitudes and practices prevail.
The members of Jupiter Hills Club are totally dedicated to the preservation of traditional golf to be played in the friendly and natural beauty of its surroundings.

Traditions

Our traditions are described in our Yearbook as set forth below:

Jupiter Hills Club is a golf club organized for the private enjoyment of members and their guests. Jupiter Hills’ primary resources are the two championship golf courses and the membership. The principal activities are golf and the social activity and relationships that evolve from them.

The Legendary Courses

Because the courses are superbly situated on the dunes and rolling hills of Florida’s coastal zone, Jupiter Hills’ two creations resemble the finest courses of the Carolina foothills, with one unique advantage – they enjoy the benevolence of a year-round subtropical climate.

The Hills Course

The 7,344-yard, par 70 Hills Course opened in 1970. Designed by George Fazio, the championship layout
brings together the land and player through hilly fairways and golf holes woven through forests of pine,
oak and palmetto.

…The Village Course…

The 6,812-yard, par 72 Village Course opened in 1979. Designed by George Fazio and his nephew, Tom Fazio, it is similar in terrain to the Hills Course, but distinctive in character and ambiance, providing a totally different challenge.

In 1987, Jupiter Hills’ two championship courses hosted the prestigious United States Amateur Championship, marking the first time this major tournament was played in the State of Florida.

The Clubhouse

The architectural style of the clubhouse is that of an early golf clubhouse. The use of traditional materials and classic proportions and wide wraparound terraces reinforces that this is a “golf serious” club with a timeless look and appeal.
