Jupiter, Florida is rich
in history with the earliest records dating back to 1565 when the
Spanish first came to the area and discovered the Jeaga Indians. In the
1800’s Jonathan Dickinson was shipwrecked off the shores of Jupiter, and
was later captured and released by the Native Americans. Construction of
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse began in 1852 making in now the oldest
structure in Palm Beach County. The landmark red brick lighthouse sit up
high overlooking the Jupiter Inlet, and is adjacent to The Loxahatchee
Historical Museum.
Located 13 miles north of Palm Beach Island, Jupiter has become a
wonderful place to live, work and play. Jupiter has very low density of
housing relative to the rest of Palm Beach County and south Florida.
This low density has preserved its charm, and kept the small town
appeal, with a vibrant culture and extremely close proximity to Palm
Beach Airport, world class shopping and restaurants. With its beautiful
beaches, Loxahatchee River, Intracoastal Waterway all meandering trough
the town, Jupiter has some of the best fishing, scuba diving and
snorkeling in the world. Kayaking, surfing, boating, or just sitting
back on of the beautiful beaches are other activities that locals and
visitors enjoy year round.
